Analyzing Objects: Found & Arranged is an archive of collected objects, found in my parents’ home, collector forums and books. Starting with an intuitive placement of the images to create new contexts, the aim was to provoke reactions and possibilities. The collected objects are categorized to communicate via their own logic and new functions. Each object comes with a category, a potential caption from the collector, and a brief description highlighting its original function or where it was found. This transforms the book into a catalog, encyclopedia, or archive of objects, detailing their origins. There is no guide on how to interpret the book, leaving it as a cohesive collection of objects taken out of their original context and reimagined through a particular logic. Akin to a flea market where disparate objects are juxtaposed to spark new insights.
